BIG NEWS!

We have been awarded the Master Plan design service from Austin Parks Foundation! This is the program that we wrote an application for and submitted in late April. We are so excited to have APF with us every step of the way along the journey!

As part of this process, APF will provide services in architectural landscape, community engagement, fundraising, and most importantly, we will have a beautiful Master Plan that we can submit to the City of Austin for approval. Overall, this service will allow us to make our park the very best it can be!

Next steps:

-We need to form a committee made up of a Committee Chair, 2 committee members, and 1 alternate. If you’re interested, keep reading to find out more about these positions.

-In August, the selected committee will meet with APF to start the process.

-Over the next few months (estimated to be about 6), the committee will hold planning meetings with APF and host community input meetings to gather ideas and share information.

-Together with APF and landscaping professionals, the committee will develop a Master Plan that they will present to the City for approval.

-Along the way, the committee will engage local businesses and organizations for fundraising, sponsorship, and support.

Committee Members

They must be able to attend all planning meetings and community input meetings, most likely to occur between Aug. 2019 and Feb. 2020. Experience with community outreach and fundraising preferred.

Committee Members- We will have two committee members. They are required to attend all planning meetings and community input meetings, most likely to occur between Aug. 2019 and Feb. 2020. No experience with community outreach or fundraising required, but you should be comfortable engaging in both.

Alternate Committee Member- This person is not required to attend all planning meetings or community input, but is welcome to. In the event that another committee member cannot attend a meeting, this person is responsible for attending and meeting with the absent individual afterwards.
